Join us for a fun, and inclusive yoga series! Come move, breathe, and connect with us in a supportive and nurturing environment!

This class series fosters physical and emotional well-being while creating a sense of community and connection. No prior yoga experience is needed, and all abilities are welcomed. Each class is led by DSC Occupational Therapist, Cierra, who is a 200HR certified yoga instructor.

What to Expect:

  • Physical Fitness: Participation in yoga improves strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, supporting overall physical health in a fun and engaging way.

  • Interoception Development: Through gentle yoga poses, breathwork, and mindfulness exercises, participants will enhance their awareness of internal sensations, helping them better understand and respond to their own needs.

  • Sensory Regulation: The class incorporates calming techniques and sensory-friendly tools to help participants manage sensory input.

  • Community Building: Each session includes opportunities for social connection through group activities, and shared moments to create and strengthening friendships within the class.

Class Details:

  • When: Weekly sessions

    Thursdays at 3PM-3:45PM between 4/24 and 6/12

  • Where: DSC Campus

  • Who: Teenagers and adults with Down syndrome (15+)

  • What to bring: Comfortable clothing that enables freedom of movement, water bottle

  • Yoga mats and blocks are available for student use during class, with the option for students to bring their own yoga mat/blocks if desired

Dates: 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5, 6/12 

Cost & Registration:

Cost: $120 for all 8 classes. DDA respite funds accepted!
